JUNE 7TH 2010 DAY THIRTY SIX

Well the doctors appointment went as good as could be expected today. It was several hours of poking and prodding, followed by a rape screening at the local hospital. I was treated to the Hannibal Lecter table and electric stimulation and pin the tail on Lances ass, back and legs areas. Also included lots of ice and massaging (that part was to get me to stop crying). I was told by the good doctor, that it was gonna be necessary to return Tuesday for another session, and being the masochist I am, I agreed. After this round of torture, I will be back out on the road, entering on to the Navajo Reservation to meet up with my great friend, Tibb Armboy, whom I served with for years in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was one of the best soldiers I ever had the privilege to serve with and he a proud Navajo that comes from a proud people. In all honesty I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. David Daily, a Vietnam Veteran and medical oasis in the middle of this long journey. I would gladly play darts with him any day, as long as I was on his team. I will leave directly after the appointment. I feel better but he said that I will feel much better after day two of this therapy, I trust him, I have to, he has me on a table, face down, with my shorts down and lots of sharp objects. Cross your fingers and thank you for being a part of day thirty six.
*When Mackenzie was a little girl, I accidentally shut the car door on her finger while getting her out of the car, I never felt so bad in my life, it will stick with me forever. No broken bones and I know it hurt me worse than it did her.

  1. When I was little my Mom spilled her hot coffee on my head while I was climbing into the car...Though I was in an unexplainable amount of pain, I forgave her immediately. I could tell she more more horrified than I was, she still feels guilty for it too I think. I wish she didn't.

  2. Kim did the exact same thing in Panama. Got her finger slammed shut in the car door. She was so little and in so much pain. Still loves cars and Panama; made a successful recovery. Thanks for sharing your day with us.
